Abstract

This document describes Conventional attendance systems still have weaknesses in attendance validation and delays in delivering information to parents. This study aims to implement a web-based student attendance information system with location validation using geofencing and real-time WhatsApp notifications. The development method used is the Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model, with location validation using the Haversine Formula at a radius of 50 meters. The system was developed using the Laravel framework and MySQL database, then tested using Blackbox Testing, geofencing accuracy testing, and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The results showed that all system features ran with a 100% success rate, location validation accuracy of 95%, WhatsApp notification delivery success rate of 96.7%, and a usability score of 82.5, which is categorized as very good. These results indicate that the developed system is able to improve attendance accuracy, minimize the potential for attendance manipulation, and increase the transparency of student attendance information to parents in real time.
